Hamilton'n Pole
For moments it seemed that Force India were about to celebrate a consecutive pole position, following their Belgian success, after Adrian Sutil lapped Monza on Saturday afternoon in 1m 24.261s in Q3. But right at the very end Lewis Hamilton came blazing round for McLaren with 1m 24.066s to snatch the honour away.
Behind them, the KERS cars of Kimi Raikkonen and Heikki Kovalainen lined up third and fourth, the first Finn lapping in 1m 24.523s for Ferrari, the second in 1m 24.845s for McLaren.

Fisichella moved to Ferrari
Giancarlo Fisichella has described his switch to Ferrari as ‘a dream come true’ after Force India agreed to release him from his contract with immediate effect. Fisichella will replace Luca Badoer as Felipe Massa’s stand-in at the forthcoming Italian Grand Prix and for the rest of the season, before becoming the team’s 2010 reserve driver.
"I’m in seventh heaven," Fisichella told Ferrari’s official website. "I still can’t believe it that the dream of my life comes true and I want to thank Ferrari and Chairman Luca di Montezemolo. Over the last week some really incredible things happened to me: the pole position and then second place at Spa and now I’m called by Ferrari to race the last five races of the season for them.”
Fisichella arrived at Ferrari’s Maranello headquarters on Thursday afternoon to meet team principal Stefano Domenicali and to begin preparing for his Monza debut. The first step was to set up the F60’s cockpit for the Roman, who then met the technicians he will work with during the race weekend. |

Schumacher extends Ferrari contract
Michael Schumacher has agreed to extend his contract as a consultant with Ferrari for a further three years. After retiring from Formula One racing in 2006, Schumacher has undertaken the advisory role at the Italian team, with whom he won five of his seven drivers’ titles.
“Yesterday in Maranello, Chairman Montezemolo and I agreed on extending our collaboration for another three years,” explained the German on his official website. “I’m very happy about it, because I always loved being part of the family Ferrari, a name that stands for passion, high quality and top-level sportiness.
“The agreement foresees that my contribution is more and more directed to the area of road cars. It was extremely nice for me to participate in the development of the Ferrari California, the 430 Scuderia and the new born 458 Italia, which will be officially presented next Tuesday at the IAA Frankfurt: I can’t wait to be part of the future projects in Maranello."

Renault charged
Representatives of the Renault Formula One team have been requested to appear before an extraordinary meeting of the FIA’s World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) in France later this month.
Renault have been called to answer charges that the team conspired with driver Nelson Piquet to cause a deliberate crash at the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix, with the aim of causing the deployment of the safety car to the advantage of their other driver, Fernando Alonso, who went on to win.
Piquet retired from Formula One racing’s inaugural night race after hitting the wall on Lap 14, just after Alonso, who had started on a light fuel load, had made his first pit stop. The subsequent safety-car period helped vault the Spaniard, originally 15th on the grid, to the front end of the field.

Force India deny Fisichella-Ferrari
Force India have denied reports that Giancarlo Fisichella is set to move to Ferrari for the forthcoming Italian Grand Prix, to take over from Luca Badoer, who has stood in for the injured Felipe Massa at the last two races.
In a statement issued by Force India on Monday, boss Vijay Mallya insisted Fisichella, who scored the team’s first world championship points at Spa on Sunday, had received no invitation from Ferrari, adding that the Italian was looking forward to driving the Force India car again at Monza.

Het lijkt erop dat Schumi terug komt in de f1. We wachten nog heel even voor we hem beschikbaar maken in de manager, maar ruim voor Valencia zal hij beschikbaar zijn.
