This page explains the way your team earns points. You'll receive points for your drivers, your engine and your chassis. For engine and chassis calculations see below.

1st Driver and 2nd Driver
First you need to know the difference between a first driver and a second driver. See the page Actual Teams. If your driver is in the 1st Driver column, your driver is a first driver. Else (obviously) your driver is a second driver. We decide wether a driver is first or second depending on this page. The fact that your driver is a first or second driver doen's affect the way points are calculated, but is does affect the amount of points.

The calculation
First of all, your drivers earn points depending on their qualification and race results. The table on the right shows you the amount of points gained. The amount of points gained with qualification and/or race results are not affected by the fact a driver is crashed or did not finish or whatever. Once these points are calculated, you'll receive bonus and/or penalty points. Bonus points will be different depending on wether your driver is a 1st or 2nd driver. You will gain extra points when your driver is finished. When your driver has driven the fastes lap, you'll receive an extra bonus. If you have a second driver, and that second driver finished (race position) before the first driver (of the same team), you'll receive an extra bonus. The last bonus you can receive for your driver can be a bonus, but a penalty as well. It's the difference between qualifying position and race position. Each time your driver overtakes another driver, you'll receive 2 points. Each time your driver is overtaken by another driver you will loose two points.

Penalties
For drivers, there are three ways to receive penalty points. If your driver crashes or does not make the finish due to his own (steering) fault, you'll receive a 'Crashed' penalty. If your driver is crashed but not due to his own fault (for example, he was hit by another driver), you'll receive an 'Accident' penalty. The third penalty is called 'Drive through'. This penalty is given per drive through, or stop & go or whatever penalty your driver faced during the race.

Point calculations
There are two drivers in the race driving a car with your engine. Therefore the amount of points earned by your engine is affected by both drivers. First of all you'll receive points for qualifying and race results as shown in the table on the right. Remember, you need to look for the qualifying and race position of the drivers which have driven the race using your engine in the actual race, not the results of the drivers in your team! Then you'll receive bonus points when your engine has driven the fastest lap. You'll also receive a finish bonus if your engine makes the finish.

Penalties
You'll receive a penalty when (one of) the drivers driving your engine, does not finish the race due to engine problems. If both of the driver did not finish due to engine problems, the penalty gets doubled (one penalty per driver).
The following reasons are considered as engine failures :
  • Engine
  • Gearbox
  • Transmission
  • Oil leak
  • Clutch
  • Fuel pressure
As explained in the Driver points section, when a driver does not finish due to engine problems, the driver still earns qualifying and race position points.

Point calculations

Remember, you need to look for the qualifying and race position of the drivers which have driven the race using your chassis in the actual race, not the results of the drivers in your team! You'll also receive a finish bonus if your chassis makes the finish.

Penalties
You'll receive a penalty when (one of) the drivers driving your chassis, does not finish the race due to chassis problems. If both of the driver did not finish due to chassis problems, the penalty gets doubled (one penalty per driver).
The following reasons are considered as chassis failures :
  • Brakes
  • Hydraulics
  • Suspension
  • Out of fuel
  • Mechanical
  • Steering
  • Handling
  • Electrics
  • Disqualified
As explained in the Driver points section, when a driver does not finish due to chassis problems, the driver still earns qualifying and race position points.
